WIP Wednesday (February ‘25)
WIP Wednesday is upon us once more, and I am determined to cast on and finish more than I can buy this month!!!
Only knitting projects for this month too – I’ve hit a wall with printmaking at the moment…
Knitting
Beret No. 3
I was using some of the hat shaping in this pattern as inspiration to making the pattern for my dice bag (still a WIP, I know), but figured I may as well make the actual hat too. I have a tonne of chunky yarn lying around from an abandoned blanket project (which I will pick back up again at some point) so I had lots of choice of fun yarn to use.
Off Grid Jumper
I have stopped using Instagram for this precise reason. I saw this jumper on Instagram about two years ago and was enthralled by the colourway and the pattern, so of course I raced to buy the pattern and yarn in the right colours. Have I had time to knit this? No. Has the yarn just sat in my cupboard this whole time? Yes. But fear not – now is the moment. I’m trying to organise my WIP schedule such that I can at least finish knits in time to wear them for the season, and since this is looking to be the thickest sweater on my WIP list, at aran-weight, this one’s next. Not sure how I’ll cope with managing multiple yarn colours as I’m pretty new to this, but it can’t be too bad… right?
(Upon starting this project, I have realised that the pattern is kind of bad. It’s impossible to meet gauge (and I’m not the only one) so I’m making my own calculations/winging it. Ah…)
