WIP Wednesday (January ‘25)

Happy new year one and all! Hope you had a very restful season – I did, at least. I’m kind of taking a life reset this month so for this I’m going to be working in Vienna. For that reason, there’s only so many new projects I can start (in addition to continuing my current ones!!!) as I can’t bring all my equipment with me, but in a way it’s quite nice to limit my tools and really focus on what I have in front of me. This does mean no printmaking for this month, and admittedly, I have been quite unmotivated with it lately. Part of this is feeling unconfident as a drawer, so one of my New Year's resolutions is to practise drawing more. Anyway, here are the headlines for this month's projects!

Knitting

Dice Bag

I have been inducted into the Magic the Gathering enjoyers' club, so I have started acquiring my own equipment to play. Naturally, with acquiring fun dice comes acquiring a fun dice bag. I will give credit to my friend and his girlfriend for sewing a very cool dice bag which I, er, adapted, the style of to create my own knitted version. This is my first foray into making my own knitting pattern, and I figure it's a pretty simple shape so hopefully I can pull it off.

No Frills Jumper (November '24)

I did intend to start this jumper in November but I then put it aside as I wanted to put all my efforts towards finishing my green cable jumper, which I now have done! I've made pretty good progress on this already, and while I don't really love knitting or the way that raglan looks, it does feel cool watching it grow on your needles. There is still the looming problem of colour-matching the ombré yarn when I join it again to the sleeves, but I'll deal with that later…

(Also, I know this is a week late and if this blog post seems rushed; I apologise but Squarespace has deleted my post and all my progress on it multiple times so I have basically had to rewrite it from memory/scratch. ARGH!!!)
